Masks absolutely fascinate me. To wear a mask is to exist liminally, to traverse the space between absolute vulnerability and absolute power. While in concealing your face and your identity, you hold power over those around you, you also trust them with your very soul; without a face or a name, you are laid completely bare. To wear a mask is akin to wearing nothing at all. As such, it is incredibly sexy.
For my 30th birthday I will throw an extravagant masque ball. We will all be anonymous and, thus, all intimate. Below are a few masks I find absolutely stunning.
